Faulty Tools Can Kill

• A faulty tool, cord, or appliance could allow an electrical current to flow from the live wire through you to the ground – and the shock you receive could be fatal.
• Faults result from worn insulation, moisture, deterioration in tools from age or abuse and, in some cases, where three-wire plugs have been replaced and incorrectly wired.
• A circuit breaker or fuse will NOT protect you. Fuses or circuit breakers are primarily designed to protect your electrical system, wiring and equipment. They will NOT protect you from serious injury during a ground failure.
