Deposit Policy Temporarily Suspended

March 8, 2005 - London, Ontario

As a result of the board meeting today, the Directors of London Hydro have suspended the Security Deposit Policy for further review. A decision will be made as soon as possible, but no later than April 12, 2005.

During this time, London Hydro executives will meet with various community organizations that today presented concerns about the policy.

All deposits currently on hand are protected and will remain on hand.

London Hydro's security deposit was implemented to protect all ratepayers from unnecessary rate increases due to bad debt. The purpose of the suspension is to ensure that we hear from those agencies that voiced their concerns, and ensure that our policy is fair and reasonable for all customers.
