- Power outages required November 6, 7 and 8 to ensure the safety of local infrastructure -

SARNIA, November 6, 2023 – Over the next few days, approximately 140 crew members from Bluewater Power, Hydro One and London Hydro will support a third-party moving a large, oversized vessel along an 117 km route, from the Sarnia Harbour to London, to ensure it does not come into contact with power lines. Given the size of the vessel, crews will be hoisting or cutting and reconnecting distribution lines along the route, resulting in short power outages for customers in vicinity of the route.

The local electricity providers understand how difficult it is for customers to be without power and worked to determine the optimal route to minimize the impact to their customers and the local electricity system.

Given the nature of the move, the outage start and end times below are estimates and vary based on the customers’ location and the speed of travel.
