London Hydro Wins Performance Excellence Award

London, Ontario – On March 30th, at the Electricity Distributors Association’s (EDA) annual award gala, London Hydro was honoured to win the Performance Excellence Award for its team’s accomplishments throughout 2021. The Performance Excellence Award recognizes one utility for its outstanding achievements in occupational health & safety, operations, finance, conservation, and contributions to the community.

 

In 2021, London Hydro received significant safety acknowledgements, completed major grid and distribution projects, and continued to invest in digital self-service tools for its customers. London Hydro also made advancements in clean energy solutions through community-based projects and pilot programs. Specific highlights from 2021 include:

  • One million hours with no lost-time injuries
  • Developing a health and wellness program for employees and their families
  • Receiving an “A” rating from its annual customer satisfaction survey
  • The completion of a decade-long project to modernize London’s downtown grid resulting in increased safety, reliability and automation
  • Being a lead partner in the development of West 5, Canada’s first Net-Zero Energy Community
  • The launch of Trickl, a mobile app that brings account information and self-service tools to customer’s phones
  • Increased customer service and convenience through Live Chat in MyLondonHydro
  • Donating over $14,000 to local charities that support Indigenous programs, local food banks and holiday giving programs
