Why this work is happening

Underground cables and related equipment can deteriorate over time. Replacing older cable and upgrading equipment helps strengthen the local distribution system and supports long-term reliability for homes in the area.

What work is included

Work may include:

  • Installing new underground electrical cable through the neighbourhood (using directional drilling where feasible)

  • Connecting and upgrading equipment at select locations (e.g., pad-mounted transformers and cable terminations

  • Localized restoration (asphalt, sod/grass, driveway edges, and boulevard areas) after construction is complete

What residents can expect during construction

Traffic, parking, and access

  • Temporary lane restrictions or short-term driveway access changes may be required while crews work.

  • Equipment and materials may be staged on the roadway or boulevard in active work zones.

  • Access for emergency services will be maintained.

Noise and vibration

Directional drilling and excavation can create intermittent noise and vibration near work areas. Crews will work to minimize disruption.

Power interruptions

Some brief planned interruptions may be required to complete safe electrical connections. If an outage is needed, impacted residents will be notified in advance whenever possible.

Trees, landscaping, and restoration

  • If tree trimming or removals are required for safety or access, they will be managed as part of the project planning.

  • All disturbed areas will be restored as closely as possible to their original condition once work is complete (final restoration timing may depend on season and weather).
