We understand the importance of protecting personal information and helping customers safely manage their London Hydro accounts. As an added precaution, the guidance below is intended to help customers recognize suspicious communications, verify messages directly through trusted London Hydro channels, and avoid potential scams.

What to Do

  • Continue using your usual payment method. Ignore any unexpected request to change how or where you pay your bill.
  • Verify directly. If a message seems unusual or suspicious, do not reply, click links, or open attachments. Instead, go directly to londonhydro.com or call the number printed on your regular utility bill to verify the reliability of information in the message.
  • Do not share sensitive information. London Hydro will never ask for your password, banking information, credit card number, or Social Insurance Number by email or text.
  • Avoid unexpected links. Do not log in to an online portal using a link sent by email, text message, or social media. Type the website address directly into your browser.
  • Report suspicious messages. Without clicking links or opening attachments, forward suspicious emails or texts to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. After reporting, delete the message.
