About London Hydro
Under the direction of the Manager IT Infrastructure, or designate, the Program Manager-Cloud Architect is responsible for overseeing London Hydro’s cloud strategy. The candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, supporting and managing cloud infrastructure to ensure performance, security, scalability, cost-effectiveness and alignment with business goals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Supervise and provide technical and administrative direction, coaching, and support to a team of System Administrators.
Technical and Architectural Development
- Develop and support architectural artifacts (diagrams and project documentation)
- Responsible for creating justification, sourcing, evaluation and contract documents, and project documentation (business cases, project plan, project charter and other relevant project documents)
- Act as a key participant in the development of cloud strategy and associated business and IT processes.
- Estimate cloud costs and cost optimization for services in use.
- Oversee monitoring and optimization of cloud systems.
- Develop and monitor pertinent KPIs to the management of cloud systems.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve optimum results.
- Remain abreast of cloud architect best practices and make recommendations to the management team.
Project and Program Management
- Manage complex work programs throughout the full project lifecycle, including planning, scope, cost, schedule, and quality (cloud architecture design, cloud migrations, cloud security and compliance, system integration with cloud and premise systems, data pipeline design, resource optimization, cost optimization, performance tuning).
- Collect and report project information status to Executives, Steering Committee and stakeholders, and liaise with them as appropriate.
- Manage dependencies and interfaces between systems and projects and work collaboratively with other program/project managers in the organization.
- Create and manage budgets, estimates, variances and forecasts related to program and related projects.
- Perform cost-benefit analyses of projects and programs and ensure maintenance of benefit realizations.
- Oversee, collaborate and manage technology vendors, partners and contractors.
Safety and Others
- Ensure personal and direct reports’ adherence to all Occupational Health & Safety Act rules and regulations, IHSA safety rules, London Hydro Safe Work Practices, Environmental Policies and Health and Safety policies. Ensure all accident reports are reviewed, and corrective action is taken.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

- Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field, Computer Science or equivalent PLUS Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Program Management Certification or relevant IT architecture certifications.
- More than 5 years of relevant experience in IT technology development and Implementation.
- More than 5 years of experience with enterprise-scale IT architecture.
- Experience with AWS and GCP would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Cyber Security would be an asset.
- More than 5 years of vendor management experience.
- More than 5 years of leadership, management and/or supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to effectively plan, manage and execute IT initiatives related to business process reengineering and optimization, strategy, business case, technology roadmap development, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong financial acumen. Understanding of project budgets, cost estimation, and financial tracking.
