London Hydro is seeking dynamic and detail-oriented candidates to join our team as Temporary Customer Service & Utility Data Service Representatives. In this pivotal role, you contribute to essential administrative, customer-facing, and metering/billing operations, all while delivering exceptional service and meaningful support

Start Date: Positions expected to begin in Fall 2025

Duration: Up to 12 months

Location: London, Ontario

Pay Rate: $27.52/hour

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Customer Service Duties:

  • Communicate with customers regarding billings, payments, products, repairs, policies, and service practices.
  • Assist customers with online account support and troubleshoot access issues.
  • Document all customer interactions clearly and accurately.
  • Receive and make calls with customers, agencies, retailers, and contractors to provide information, resolve issues, or schedule appointments.
  • Sort and process incoming and returned mail.
  • Promote London Hydro’s products, programs, and conservation initiatives.
  • Initiate and send written correspondence using standardized system letters.

Utility Data Service Duties:

  • Analyze meter data exceptions; investigate and resolve discrepancies (e.g., low reads, stale reads, service order issues).
  • Create, dispatch, monitor, and close service orders for check reads, move outs, and meter irregularities.
  • Load and verify pricing data and execute retailer settlement transactions in the billing system.
  • Process billing and print exceptions; investigate invoice failures and determine resolutions.
  • Identify and escalate issues related to metering and billing systems.
  • Notify Meter departments of health & safety concerns, meter irregularities, or suspected theft.
  • Perform end-user testing of meter data, billing, and other systems when required.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Empathy and professionalism during interactions with diverse customer groups
  • Proficiency with personal computers and common software applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Previous experience in customer service, utility billing, or administrative support, considered an asset.
