London Hydro is upgrading underground electrical equipment in the Glenora Drive and Glenview Crescent neighbourhood as part of its ongoing system improvement program. This work will replace older underground power cables and improve the reliability of electricity service in the area.

Why this work is needed
The underground power cables in this neighbourhood are getting old and are near the end of their service life. Replacing them will help improve reliability and support the long-term performance of the electrical system in the community.
What work will take place
What work is included
The project includes:
- Directional drilling along City of London boulevards
- Installing new underground pipes (conduits) and high-voltage power cables
- Removing old underground cables that are no longer reliable
- Installing one new transformer
- Upgrading electrical equipment and underground connections
Most of the new underground system will be installed in the front-yard boulevard areas to make future maintenance easier.
What residents can expect during construction
Traffic, parking, and access
- Temporary lane restrictions may happen in active work areas
- Some driveways may be affected for short periods of time
- Construction equipment and materials may be stored along roadsides and boulevards during the project
- Emergency vehicles and local traffic will still be able to access the area
Noise and vibration
Construction work, including drilling and digging, may create temporary noise and vibration near the work area.
Planned power outages
Some planned power outages may be needed to safely complete the work. Customers affected by outages will be notified ahead of time whenever possible.
Trees, landscaping, and restoration
- Work near trees will follow City of London rules and protection measures
- If tree trimming is needed, London Hydro and contractors will work with City Forestry staff
- Any disturbed lawns or boulevard areas will be repaired once construction is complete.
